3-DAY “KNOW YOUR RIGHTS” PHONE-A-THON FOR SPANISH-SPEAKING NEW YORKERS

NYC COMMISSION ON HUMAN RIGHTS PARTNERS WITH UNIVISION NEW YORK, OTHER MEDIA, AND COMMUNITY PARTNERS ON 3-DAY “KNOW YOUR RIGHTS” PHONE-A-THON TO ADDRESS DISCRIMINATION AND HARASSMENT CONCERNS FROM SPANISH-SPEAKING NEW YORKERS

The NYC Human Rights Commission joins Univision New York, El Diario, Radio WADO, New York Immigration Coalition, Catholic Charities, NY State Office for New Americans, and others to answer questions about discrimination and harassment facing our city’s immigrant and other concerned communities who are the target of hateful speech and incidents

Spanish-speaking New Yorkers can call 1-800-566-7636 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. December 6 – 8 to ask questions concerning their community.

The “Know Your Rights” phone-a-thon will be staffed by Spanish-speaking staff and volunteers from the participating agencies and organizations. The phone-a-thon will offer people a channel for information sharing and an opportunity for participating entities to listen to the concerns of our communities.

New Yorkers who have been victims of discrimination, can call the 311 and ask for Human Rights or call the Commission’s Infoline at 718-722-3131.
