U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) endorses Bronx Assemblyman Michael Blake for DNC Vice-Chair.

In a statement circulated by Assemblyman Michael Blake, Sen. Gillibrand explained her endorsement of his run for vice-chair of the Democratic National Committee: “Michael Blake has the determination, experience and energy to help rebuild the Democratic Party.”

“Assembly Member Blake is exactly the progressive voice we need to help us rebuild our movement, unite Democrats, and forcefully push back against President Trump and obstructionist Republicans,” stated Gillibrand.

She added that as “DNC Vice Chair, [Blake] will bring invigorating change in leadership to the Party.”

On Saturday, Blake takes his campaign to Houston, Texas where Democrats are holding a regional DNC Future Forum at Texas Southern University featuring candidates for Chair and other officer positions. The first regional forum was held back on January 14 in Phoenix, AZ. The third DNC Future Forum will be February 4 at Wayne State University in Detroit. The fourth and final DNC Future Forum will be February 11 in Baltimore, MD.

On February 26, 2017, the voting membership of the DNC will elect a new Chair and four Vice Chairs.

Blake has been endorsed by 20 DNC members spanning 13 states and the District of Columbia. DNC State Member Allison Stephens (NV) and Member At-Large Kerman Maddox (CA), DNC Member At-Large and former Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter, Hon. Herman “Denny” Farrell (NY), Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper and Vice Chair Rhine McLin, Michigan Party Chair Brandon Dillon, RWDSU President Stuart Appelbaum, and current Vice Chair R.T. Rybak, are among those supporting him for DNC vice-chairman.
