On Wednesday evening, MidBronx Senior Citizens Council and the 161st Street BID hosted the 44th precinct’s community council meeting. The public meeting was attended by a record-setting 90 residents along with Explorers, officers and the 44th Precinct commander. The meeting focused on crime stats, crime prevention strategies and municipal services in the police patrol area.
“It marked, I think, a positive turning point in police-community relations in this district,” said Dr. Cary Goodman, executive director, 161st Street Business Improvement District.
