In early May, the Independent Judicial Screening Committee of Bronx Democratic County Committee (IJSC) concluded the application submission period for candidates interested in the elected judicial positions that will occur in the 2017 election cycle in and for the County of the Bronx, City and State of New York.
The judicial screening panel will be conducting interviews on Saturday, May 13, 2017 and May 14, 2017, if necessary, at the offices of the Bronx Democratic County Committee located at 1640 Eastchester Road, Bronx, NY 10461.
Candidates found “Qualified” by the IJSC in 2014 or later, will not be interviewed as this designation lasts for 3 years. Interviews will only be necessary for those candidates who are submitting a judicial questionnaire for the first time or are interviewing for a different judicial position.
All prospective candidates for Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York and Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York were required to complete and submit a 2017 questionnaire no later than May 5, 2017 at 5:00 p.m.
