Bronx School Aide Indicted for Rape of Autistic Minor

Former Bronx School Aide Indicted for Repeated Acts of Rape of 12-Year-Old Autistic Boy for Over a Year

A former Bronx paraprofessional has been indicted for repeated acts of rape and sexual assault against one of her former students, a 12-year-old autistic boy, Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced today.

Eleidy Breton, 27, of Olinville Avenue, reportedly engaged in sexual acts with the child for roughly a year, from early 2015 to August of last year, according to police investigations, instructing him to delete evidence of their interactions upon learning the abuse had been reported. She faces charges including predatory sexual assault against a child.

“Allegations of abuse against a helpless, innocent child are even more horrific and disturbing when the crimes are committed by someone who is meant to protect the child. We will work hard to secure justice for the victim, who allegedly was preyed on for more than a year,” said Clark.

Breton is due back in court late September and faces 10 years to life in prison if convicted of the top charge.
