Missing Chicago Woman Disappeared During Visit to Wakefield

A Chicago woman visiting relatives in Wakefield has not been heard from in a week, after she mysteriously disappeared after a trip to a local store.

Police and family members say that Silvia Cave, 63, of North Pine Grove Avenue, Chicago, failed to return from a trip to a store on White Plains Road at 6 p.m., on Wednesday, August 9.

According to an NYPD flyer that has been circulated by police precinct’s throughout the borough, state she is in good physical and mental health, but adds, “but was showing signs of dementia.”

“Lucy,” the missing woman’s aunt stated she didn’t think Cave had any friend’s in the area, but often visited her Wakefield home. Lucy also noted that Cave left the home without her identification.

Lucy explained, “She’d been with me since the 1st of August and she disappeared from my house.” She added that the police were doing all they could to find Cave.

Asked how the family was coping with Cave’s disappearance, Lucy replied, “It’s very rough and painful to know that your loved one just disappeared like that, in a big city like New York.

Cave is 5′ 8”, 150 pounds and was last seen wearing a pink sweater, beige slacks and orange sandals.

The NYPD is also looking for a second woman from Queens with developmental disabilities who disappeared from a relatives home in Belmont.

Officials say Marisol DelValle, 46, suffers from down syndrome and autism, as well as suffering a speech impediment. She disappeared from the Arthur Avenue home on Thursday, August 10.

DelValle is 4′ 9”, 145 pounds with straight black hair and was last seen wearing a black polka-dot shirt, black pants and carrying a black bag.
