Friends and competitors alike gathered to remember the life and work of Riverdale’s Michael Schwartz, who died Tuesday, August 15, after a 3-month battle with cancer. Schwartz, 73, spent the better part of four decades chasing news and capturing photos for the New York Daily News and New York Post. Friends and family gathered to remember Schwartz on August 20 at An Beal Bocht Cafe on W. 238 Street, where friends and competitors alike shared stories about his years of service as a photojournalist.
