Wednesday, October 4 — Madison, Wisconsin, truly has got milk. The 51st annual gathering of the World Dairy Expo in the Wisconsin capital began yesterday, and runs through Saturday. The exposition is expected to draw about 75,000 attendees from 90 countries. Farmers, producers and visitors will see some of the best dairy cattle, exchange ideas and knowledge, and learn about genetics, profit margins and even cow comfort. Some 880 companies participate in the trade show to promote the latest industry technology. America’s dairy product manufacturing employs about 131,000 people in over 1,700 establishments. The annual value of all this milk, cheese, butter and more is over $112 billion.
