Matters of Faith: It’s The Right Thing to Do

‭‭

Proverbs‬ ‭15:21‬ ‭(GNT)‬‬‬‬‬‬
“Stupid people are happy with their foolishness, but the wise will do what is right.”

Three years ago, I posted an inspirational message on my Facebook page that was designed to inspire the reader to take responsibility for their lives and for getting rid of every excuse, justification and/or reasoning that they might be tempted to use to give consent to their failure to be the best person they know they can be.

I had Proverbs 15:21 in mind when I wrote, “You are responsible for who you are. Everything and everyone in your life are only contributors to your life. They are not the deciding factors of who you are. That, my brothers and sisters, is left completely and totally in your hands. No more excuses! Let’s make it happen! God didn’t make no junk!” The writer in this translation of the scripture makes it clear that many of the things we create in our minds are nothing but foolishness. They have no meaningful or beneficial qualities, besides giving us a small amount of temporary pleasure that can quickly lead to all kinds of problems and issues in our lives. They even deceive themselves into thinking that their foolishness is what’s making them happy.

However, the “b” part of that same Proverb lends itself to and provides instruction for our taking responsibility for our lives. It says that the wise does what’s right! I’m going to take the liberty and say emphatically that taking responsibility for your life is the right thing to do. You have to nourish yourself with positive, uplifting, and inspirational people while putting yourself in places, situations, and circumstances that nurture and feed your deepest desire.

Taking responsibility means that you are no longer making excuses for who you are or what’s going on in your life. Taking responsibility means that you are no longer blaming other people for your station in life. Taking responsibility means that you are no longer accepting less than your best in every aspect of your life. You are now stepping up and stepping into your divine purpose with resolve and commitment. You are claiming your share of the abundance that rightfully belongs to you, but have not claimed because your focus was on other people, places, and things. You may have not realized that you have always had the power, the ability and the tools to be happy, successful, and to accomplish your greatest desire. If you stop the foolishness and exercise wisdom, nothing is beyond your reach.

Are you ready? Are you willing? Will you take full responsibility for your life and everything in it? If you are, then believe me when I say, it’s the right thing to do. “The wise will do what is right.”

Be Blessed.
