Chairman Crowley Statement on First Indictments from Special Counsel
(Queens, NY) – House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-NY) released the following statement on the indictments of former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and his associate Rick Gates:
“Discovering the facts of how and why Russia interfered in the U.S. election is essential in maintaining our democracy and the rule of law.
“This investigation must continue unobstructed by the White House. Any attempt to interfere with the special counsel’s investigation would be unacceptable and would require immediate, bipartisan action by Congress to ensure Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s independence.”
