Stars to shine bright in Queens

By Jason Gonzalez

The Adam Torres concert series will return to the ‘Big Apple’ for the last time this year. On Friday, November 24, Torres will be presenting the R-n-B Holiday Bash at the Kupferberg Center, located on the campus of Queens College in Flushing. Assuming that you’ve awoken from the tryptophan coma that occurred at the dinner table the night before, all of the hopeless romantics alike are in for a real treat. Valentine’s day will be coming a little earlier than usual for all of the rhythm and blues enthusiasts residing in the tristate area.

The Grammy award winning duo of K-Ci and JoJo, will be joined by fellow award winners 112, and the “Pony Man” himself, Ginuwine, for one night only. All of the acts headlining the triple header in Queens will be performing all of their biggest hits. The classic jams of, “All my life”, “Come and talk to me”, “Peaches and Cream”, “Cupid”, “Same Old G”, and “So Anxious” will be emanating from the rafters at Jerry Seinfeld’s alma mater. This should ultimately set the tone for the rest of the night, as you and your significant other head back home. Under the condition that it doesn’t, it should at least help to alleviate your “Black Friday” hangover, which may have been sustained during the morning of.

It’s fair to expect Peter Parker [Spider Man] to revoke the promoter’s, as well as the performer’s passes in the Q-Boro, if the show isn’t lit. But it’s hard to envision a scenario in which such a star studded lineup, fail to make good on the promise of delivering the goods.

The show starts at 8 pm. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at ticketmaster.com or at the Kupferberg box office, located at 153-49 Reeves Ave. Ticket prices vary between the range of $59 and $109. If you have any other ticketing inquiries you can contact the box office at (718) 793-8080.
