Chairman Crowley Statement on Ongoing Contract Negotiations between Communications Workers of America and the United States Infrastructure Corporation

(Queens, N.Y.) – House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-NY) issued the following statement on the ongoing contract negotiations between the Communications Workers of America (CWA) and the United States Infrastructure Corporation (USIC), an underground location and utility damage prevention company. A majority of USIC workers in New York have twice voted to be represented by CWA, but the parties have been unable to agree on a first contract.

“I urge both sides to come to the table to negotiate a fair solution so workers in my district have the certainty that only a contract can provide. With the cost of living on the rise in New York, we must ensure hard-working individuals receive the pay, benefits, flexibility, and stability they deserve and need to support their families. I hope this dispute can come to a swift resolution to the benefit of both parties.”
