Chairman Crowley Statement on International Day of Persons with Disabilities
(Queens, N.Y.) – House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-NY) issued the following statement in recognition of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities:
“Today we join millions of individuals and their families to promote the rights and wellbeing of persons with disabilities.
“We have made tremendous progress, but much more needs to be done to educate and overcome the ignorance and indifference too often directed toward those with disabilities. We must continue to work to ensure that every child, woman, and man living with a disability has access to meaningful education, employment opportunities, and quality, affordable healthcare.
“This International Day of Persons with Disabilities let’s renew our commitment to the vital programs and legislation that protect and empower Americans.”
