Willie Randolph Baseball Night At TM

Tuesday evening at the TM Baseball Baseball Training Academy former Yankees infielder Willie Randolph was a special guest along with Adelphi University Baseball coach Dom Scala.

Ray Negron, a longtime NY Yankees executive who has partnered his efforts with TM founders Tony and Jessie Melendez anchored a special radio and television panel with Randolph and Scala. They addressed the various youngsters and parents who comprise the many organized baseball teams that are under the TM and Hanks’ Yanks banner.

 

Bronx Chronicle sports editor Rich Mancuso also held a brief forum with Negron along with Jeffrey Gonzalez, a super welterweight fighter from New haven Connecticut, who will make his pro debut next month.

Randolph, also a former manager with the cross-town Mets spoke about the importance of youth baseball and stressed the importance of academics to success in gaining admission to colleges that have outstanding baseball programs.

Negron, the original and former bat boy for the Yankees is known also for getting his start with the Yankees under the late Yankees owner George Steinbrenner. This summer the Hanks Yanks program, a venture under Yankees co-owner Hank Steinbrenner, saw various TM teams playing organized games for the first time as Hanks Yanks.

Negron also host a radio program every Saturday and Sunday, Impact ESPN 1050 from noon-2pm.
