2018 HOUSE DEMOCRATIC CAUCUS ISSUES CONFERENCE

(Washington, D.C.) – Members of the House Democratic Caucus will meet in Cambridge, Maryland for the 2018 Issues Conference from Wednesday, Feb. 7th to Friday, Feb. 9th, 2018.

The theme of this year’s Issues Conference is “United For A Better Tomorrow.” During this policy-focused conference, House Democrats will further discuss our vision for the future, which includes putting all Americans on the path to financial security, enabling students to get an education without amassing a lifetime of debt, preparing American workers to succeed in modern industries, and fulfilling the promises we made to our nation’s seniors.

To kick off the 2018 Issues Conference, Vice President Joe Biden will deliver welcoming remarks on Wednesday.

Speakers will focus on House Democrats’ agenda to build an economy that works for everyone by raising the minimum wage to a living wage, addressing the economic challenges facing women and working families, ensuring access to affordable health care, fixing our broken immigration system, and strengthening our democracy.

Keynote speakers include former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara, former Attorney General Eric Holder, former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, and actor and comedian Aasif Mandvi.

Vice President Biden’s remarks will be open to pre-credentialed media.

Additional speakers include, Chairman Joe Crowley, Leader Nancy Pelosi, DNC Chairman Tom Perez, Topeka, Kansas Mayor Michelle De La Isla, Hoboken, New Jersey Mayor Ravi Bhalla, Southern Poverty Law Center’s Heidi Beirich, Latino Victory Fund’s Mayra Macias, Institute for Women’s Policy Research’s Chandra Childers, Opportunity at Work’s Byron Auguste, ACLU’s Anthony Romero, and Indivisible’s Maria Urbina.

Best-selling authors Joan C. Williams (“White Working Class,” “What Works for Women at Work”) and David Daley (“Ratf**cked: Why Your Vote Doesn’t Count”) will also speak.
