New York Botanical Garden picks first female president

The New York Botanical Garden has named Carrie Rebora Barratt its new president. Barratt, 58, is the first woman to hold the position and succeeds Gregory Long, who is stepping down after 29 years. Barratt was a curator and an administrator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for three decades. [The New York Times]
