Washington’s Birthday, also known as Presidents’ Day, is a federal holiday held on the third Monday of February. The day honors presidents of the United States, including George Washington, the USA’s first president. The nation’s 16th president, Abraham Lincoln was born this month on February 12, 1809, in Hodgensville, Kentucky.

Schools are closed. Banks and financial institutions will be closed in observance of the holiday. And, any transactions on Monday will be posted the next business day, Tuesday, Feb. 20.

The US Postal Service will not be delivering mail today and all post offices will be closed. Regular mail delivery will resume on Tuesday. UPS and FedEx will be in regular operation.
