African American Embrace/Abrazo Afro-Americano 2018

Bronx City Councilman Rev. Rubén Diaz, Sr. announced that, together with Assembly Members Marcos Crespo, Luis Sepulveda, Victor Pichardo and Councilman Rafael Salamanca, they will celebrate the Annual “African American Embrace/Abrazo Afro-Americano” in recognition of the Black Heritage Month. The celebration will be on Friday, February 23rd 2018 from 7:00 pm to 12:00 am at Maestros Caterer’s, 1703 Bronxdale Avenue, in the Bronx.

The African American Embrace/Abrazo Afro-Americano is a free banquet for 500 people where the elected officials recognize with proclamations and certificates five (5) distinguished members of the African-American Community in Bronx County.

This is one of four (4) different Abrazos that we started many years ago to recognize different community and cultures. Beside the Abrazo Afro-Americano, those elected officials also celebrate Abrazo Garifuna, Abrazo Boricua and Abrazo Dominicano. In the month of December, the lawmakers host a Christmas Party for over 800 people annually.
