March Roars in with Laughs as Netflix’s Monroe Martin & Comedy Central’s Mark Normand Headline Comedy Nights at Empire City Casino

(Yonkers, NY) — March will roar in with laughter at Empire City Casino with a duo of Wednesday Comedy Nights headlined by Netflix’s Monroe Martin on March 14th and Comedy Central’s Mark Normand on March 28th in the popular Good Time Room.

The laugh madness begins on March 14th as rising star Monroe Martin takes center stage. The funnyman from Philly, now a resident of Brooklyn, has appeared on a variety of top television shows since popping onto the comic scene just four years ago after making it to the top 10 in the 8th season NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Since then, Martin has performed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and has made cameos in Netflix’s Masters of None and Comedy Central’s House Party. Martin claims to draw from his experiences bouncing from one dysfunctional family to another, taking an honest, open approach to storytelling, effortlessly turning his childhood of hard-knock experiences into comedy gold. He will be joined by a pair of local comedians at the Empire City microphone – Brooklyn native Crystian Ramirez as the featured performer and Bronx-born Menuhin Hart as host of the evening.

As the 2013 winner of Caroline’s on Broadway’s March Madness competition, it’s only fitting that New York-based stand-up comic Mark Normand headline the show on March 28th. Born and raised in New Orleans, Normand headed to New York after college to conquer the comedy club scene. He has performed in many festivals across North America in Seattle, Boston, Vancouver and Montreal, and toured as comedienne Amy Schumer’s opening act for several years. His first hour-long special, Amy Schumer Presents Mark Normand: Don’t Be Yourself, debuted on Comedy Central in May 2017. Joining Normand is featured performer Joe Praino, the comic, actor, podcast host and sports enthusiast who is returning to his home county of Westchester, having been raised in the hamlet of Katonah, NY, and MC Joe Iavarone, who isn’t afraid to get a little physical on-stage with a sporadic handstand now-and-then.

Doors for both comedy shows open at 7:00 p.m., with performances beginning at 8:00 p.m.Tickets are sold at the door the night of each show. Admission is $5 for Empire Club members and $25 for non-members; non-members can stop by any promotions booth prior to the show and join the Empire Club for free. Elite Club and President’s Club members gain free admission. All attendees receive a complimentary drink ticket.

After the show, guests can try their luck on the casino’s IGT Wheel of Fortune Triple Stars® slot machine, which is quickly approaching the $2.9-million mark – nearly double the current record of $1,473,503 won at the casino by Howard G. of Suffolk County, Long Island in October 2015. Available only at Empire City Casino, the life-changing jackpot can be hit on one of only two machines, playing a $20 wager on the $10 denomination machine. Winning the jackpot would break the record for the highest-ever jackpot at any of New York State’s regulated casinos.
