Baseball Institute Summer Camp Registration

Baseball Training Institute in the Bronx the home once known as T M Baseball and Softball Training Academy is continuing registration for Summer Camp 2018 that includes new activities of cooking and nutritional guidance for baseball players, a private tour of the Bronx Zoo and other activities.  The six-week program begins July 9th and concludes August 17th with hours of 9am-3pm from Monday-Friday.

“We are also thrilled and excited to launch a Girls Softball Camp for ages 7-12 and registration is ongoing that will also include similar techniques and care for girls,” said Jessie Melendez coordinator of the camps and co-founder of the Baseball Institute with reputed instructor and coach Tony Melendez.

New features of the camp this Summer include players divided into team groups and each receiving a team jersey with their favorite number. Monday-Thursday will include game prep days with training and every Friday teams will compete in a game format. In addition each week awards will be distributed to Most Valuable Players .

“There will also be weekly events with a home run derby, base relays and so much more,” said Melendez.  In addition registered campers will venture on exciting field trips the 3rd and 6th weeks with sites to be determined that will enhance their focus on sportsmanship, teamwork, and serve as an educational tool.

Also, every camper who registers for five or more weeks will receive free tickets to a future New York Yankees home game with dates to be determined.and based on availability.

The Summer Camps have been a success over the years and will be held nearby at the spacious and new facilities and home of the Van Nest Little League, 1500 Waters Place in the Bronx.

Certified instructors will be under the supervision on Tony Melendez a reputed and known instructor of baseball, Melendez is also certified to instruct strength and conditioning and has devoted the last 20 years in assisting young people with their goals and development in pursuing education first and advancement with the game on and off the field.

Other components and structures of the camp include: Hitting, fielding, Base Running skills, Pitching and catching, defense and mechanics, strength and conditioning, and team play.

In addition to the camps for boys and girls registration is ongoing for a two week high school and college bound camp ages 14-to-18 for those seeking improvement in their game during the week of August 20-30th.

“Most of all there are great memories, keeping your kids busy and safe, parents have a piece of mind,,” said Melendez. Campers who return from last year will be offered the same fees. Registration is ongoing with reasonable rates and limited spots still available.
