Latest Bronx Shooting

By Robert Press

Just before eleven Thursday night a man was shot in the face near the corner of Morris Park Avenue and Van Buren Street in the 49th Precinct. Police did not identify the unknown victim who was rushed to the hospital alive.

Local community residents who wished to remain anonymous said that it was a hit, and was the second shooting at the same corner this year. Police are trying to get the video surveillance of the corner grocery store cameras, and are awaiting word from the store owner. A representative of the Bronx District Attorney’s office was seen coming out of the alley way of 500 Morris Park Avenue, but requests to talk to her were denied by the police on scene.

The cup on the sidewalk is covering part of the face believed to be the victim’s nose. It was unclear if a gun was shoved under the victims nose or not.
