Local Activist and Former Assembly Candidate Adam Bermudez Joins Bronx Chronicle

The team just keeps growing here at The Bronx Chronicle.

Adam Bermudez, a former reporter at The Bronx Times, has joined The Bronx Chronicle as a Staff Reporter. His beat will include a wide array of responsibilities, including reporting on schools, politics, hospitals and community events in the borough. Bermudez also plans to host a weekly video interview podcast, expanding The Chronicle’s video content.

“As a lifelong resident, I’m excited to return to telling the stories of my hometown at TheBronxchronicle.com, spreading to my neighbors the information about all the good and bad things happening on a daily basis in our local neighborhood,” said Bermudez, 30, of Pelham Gardens. “I think when people engage with local news, it encourages neighbors to talk at a local supermarket. They’re more likely to vote, to know the issues and the leaders shaping those issues.”

Bermudez was briefly on the other side of the news in 2012, when he ran for State Assembly in an election which introduced winner Mark Gjonaj to the community and sent incumbent Assemblywoman Naomi Rivera packing. He has since worked at the Bronx County Board of Elections as a clerk and in his free time enjoys singing silly songs.
