Artist Celebrates Harriet Tubman At Westchest Sq. Library Performance

Ms. Christine Dixon will be performing  Harriet Tubman Herself, a one woman show based on a series of interviews Harriet gave in 1868, at the Westchester Square Library on February 20 at 5 p.m.  She recently gave the performance in Pelham Bay to rave reviews.

The interviews were between Tubman and a Sunday school teacher and writer of “Scenes from the Life and Times of Harriet Tubman Herself,” Sarah Bradford.

Ms. Dixon has said she wants to “share with her audience the essence of Ms. Tubman”, and to show the real person fighting a real fight that a modern day audience can understand though her performance.  A Q and A  session will take place between Ms. Dixon and the audience after the show.
