Bronx Electeds Celebrate Garifuna Community At City Hall, State Capital

To celebrate the 6th annual Garifuna-America Heritage month, Bronx elected officials honored the ethnic/cultural community, which includes many Bronx members, at City Hall and in Albany this week.  The Garifuna-Americans are descendants of West African and Native Americans who settled along the Caribbean Coast in BelizeGuatemalaNicaragua, and Honduras centuries ago.
