1ST ANNUAL PATROL BOROUGH BRONX YOUTH POETRY SLAM
“Youth & NYPD Communicating”
The NYPD Patrol Borough Bronx Community Affairs will host the 1st Annual Youth Poetry Slam, an event created to bring recognition to student writers and engage in friendly communication between the Youth and NYPD.

The Poetry Slam is a selective process where Principals and Teachers will choose one 5th grade Student to represent their school and to read their poem. Themes are focused on family, feelings, death, sports and effect of violence.

The Youth Poetry Slam is expected to transfer the Veterans’ Memorial Hall of the Bronx County Building into a poet café, offering all invited guests the opportunity to enjoy student art works which will be on display and hear the words of students, officers and special guests while borough residents receive information regarding community youth programs and services available.

When: Thursday, March 27, 2014
Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Where: Bronx County Building’s Veterans’ Memorial Hall, 851 Grand Concourse
