Last night, over 60 people (the biggest crowd in years!) packed into the reading room at the Huntington Free Library at Westchester Square for the East Bronx HIstory Forum’s monthly history lecture, with Wesley and Barbara Gottlock speaking about old time New York City amusement parks. (Their 2013 book Lost Amusement Parks of New York City (History Press) is available here.) In addition to Fort George in Manhattan, the talk focused on Starlight Park in West Farms (the photo above) and the amusements/beach clubs at Clason Point in Soundview.
