Bronx Borough President and Council Woman Gibson endorsed SUNY ATTAIN  Job Fair to feature more than 35 employers

The SUNY ATTAIN Martin Luther King Resource Center is partnering with the State Department of Labor to host their second annual Job Fair on April 17 at Harriet Tubman Charter School, 1176 Franklin Ave. The FREE event will showcase top companies like Board of Education, MTA, and Verizon to name a few and will run from 10 am to 2 pm.

The event is designed to help shape the vision of the “NEW BRONX, NEW BEGINNINGS” paradigm.

“This is a great event that will provide “Bronxites” with the connections and tools they’ll need to land a job. What better way to help our residents who are seeking employment than in a one-stop-shop environment where they will meet, greet employers, fine tune their resume writing and interviewing skills.

I would to thank my partners Council Woman Vanessa L. Gibson and the Resource center for Nonviolence for making sure that “Bronxites” are given the opportunity to succeed,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr.

Whether you’re a college seniors, recent graduates, veterans or re-entering the workforce, plan to visit the Job Fair as participating companies are looking to hire job seekers across many industries, including engineering, manufacturing, sales, finance, banking, and restaurants among others.

“While improving the climate for economic development in the Bronx, events like this Job Fair will play a vital role in connecting employers throughout our region with those looking for work,” Council Member Vanessa L. Gibson (D-Bronx, 16th CD) said.  “This is an excellent opportunity for people to find opportunities that are available in today’s dynamic and ever changing job market. I really appreciate the hard work the Martin Luther King, Jr. ATTAIN Center has put into organizing this important event and look forward to working with partners like Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. moving forward,” she further added.

The fair provides employers with opportunities to hire experienced job candidates. “It is always a pleasure to bring job providers together with those seeking employment as it can only improve our local economy and make it possible for families throughout the South Bronx to improve their standard of living,” said Cliff Frazier, the Executive Director of the Martin Luther King, Jr. ATTAIN Center. The upcoming Job Fair is part of ongoing efforts to address economic distress many Bronx families are facing, Frazier added.

Morrisania Revitalization Corporation is also helping to co-sponsor the event.
