The Chronicle Presents: Rhymes In The Bronx

On any given weekend in our borough, groups of individuals will be found standing around in circles, known as cyphers, on street corners, in apartments, in the park, or anywhere where ears are available to hear bars of rhymes, urban poetry incubated in the Bronx, with a meter and style that spread worldwide.  Thousands of rhymes are spat on any given Bronx weekend.  These are just a few.  And just like ancient Greek poetry, or the Bible, parents are advised that topics and language may be for an adult audience only.
