Stephen Colbert To Fill Letterman’s Late Show Seat

Since the 1982 debut of Late Night with David Letterman on NBC, David Letterman has graced the late night screen until next year, when he will retire as host of the talk show  Late Show with David Letterman.

CBS will fill the slot with a newly done Late Show hosted by television personality Stephen Colbert.  The commedian will drop his “character” for the Late Show, and play “himself”.  The move comes just months after The Tonight Show returned to New York City,  being hosted by Saturday Night Live alum Jimmy Fallon.  Below, Colbert responds on his Comedy Central show The Colbert Report to the news last night.
