2014 National Association of Police Organizations TOP COPS White House Awards

Joined by Vice President Joe Biden, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and other top officials, President Barack Obama honored 53 law enforcement professionals at the White House’s East Room yesterday, stating, “The United States owes a debt to the police officers who put themselves in danger to protect the nation.”  All were male.  The President also included in his praise the families of the “top cops” as unsung heroes.

Those honored were a diverse group, including individuals who helped respond to the Boston Marathon bombing and the Washington Navy Yar shootings.
