Northeast Bronx Resident Honored At State Comptroller’s Carribean-American Heritage Month Celebration

Northeast Bronx resident Neva Shillingford-King, Executive Vice President of the United Healthcare Workers East, New York, SEIU 1199, was honored last night at Brooklyn Law School as part of New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli’s Caribbean Heritage Month celebration, along with Dr. Roy A. Hastick, Sr., President/CEO, Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Dr. Eda Harris-Hastick, Professor of Social Work and Director, Bachelor of Science in Social Work Degree Program, Medgar Evers College, SUNY, Dr. Marcia V. Keizs, President, York College, City University of New York and Patricia Williams, Founding Member, Youth Leaders On The Move.  Shillingford-King, a longtime labor leader, is a native of Dominica and is married to Councilman Andy King.
