Under-The-Radar Affordable Art Show Rolls Out In The Bronx

ONE OF NYC’S BEST AFFORDABLE ART SHOWS, PREPARES TO ROLL OUT A TREASURE TROVE OF ART IN THE BRONX

NYC-Area Artists Converge On The “Access To Art” Fundraiser For The Bronx Art Space, With High Quality Fine Art At Significantly Affordable Prices

The Bronx Art Space (BAS) is pleased to announce “Access To Art” an annual fundraiser, showcasing a spectacular range of artwork from artists in the New York City tri-state area August 2-16, 2014.  Bronx Art Space believes that fine art should be accessible to everyone, and will kick-off the event with an opening reception on August 2, 2014 at 5:30-8:30.  All are welcome.

What makes this “secret gem” of an art show unlike any other in New York City is the combination of refined, sophisticated, high-quality fine art at prices that are truly affordable. Now New Yorkers who want to support local artists, can afford it. “Access to Art”  reaches out to professional and accomplished artists to offer work well under $1,000—with several pieces from distinguished  and early career artists plus small works from $10 on up.

This year is a true treasure trove of art that has largely been under the radar in New York City.  In the last several years, The Bronx has been gaining a visible and laudable reputation in the New York City Art World for providing a new and engaging platform for contemporary art.  The Bronx Art Space has been at the vanguard of this movement!

On display, will be photography by Pulitzer Prize winner and NYTIMES celebrated photographer, and Bronxite Michael Kamber.  His work covering war and everyday life has wowed the crowds from New York to Paris!

Riverdale Collage Artist, Glenn Fischer whose was recently featured in Kolaj magazine and the Architectural Digest Home and Design Show in New York City will also be featuring his collection of collage crafted from old record-album covers and colorful children’s books from the 1960’ and 1970’s.

There’s even handcrafted, one of a kind jewelry, off-loom bead weaving and embroidery in this year’s show from Susan Matthews.  She brings to the show, a dazzling array of necklaces, bracelets earrings and pins that embody an elegant design with the soft glow of crystal and stones. Her work is one a kind and brings with it an intricate sculpture like quality.

This only a small sample of the contemporary offerings that range from photography, painting, mixed media, fine craft and sculpture.  This year, all proceeds to BAS will go directly to funding the organization’s ability to operate on a day-to-day basis.

The Opening Reception is August 2, 2014 from 5:30-8:30.

“Access to Art” will run from August 2-Agust 16, 2014
