Robin Williams, beloved actor and comedian, was found dead in his Tiburon, California home this afternoon.
The Marin County Sheriff Corner’s department suspect suicide due to asphyxiation. Williams’ body was discovered unconscious by a family member who placed a call to 911 at 11:55 a.m.
Various news sites are reporting that Williams had been battling severe depression and recently went back to rehab last month for alcohol treatment. In the 80’s, Robin suffered from alcohol and drug abuse but kept sober for 20 years after seeking treatment.
Robin’s wife, Susan Schneider, released a statement saying, “I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings, I am utterly heartbroken.”
Robin was known for his comedy and dramatic acting starring in many shows including Mork & Mindy, and films such as Mrs. Doubtfire and Good Will Hunting which earned him a best supporting actor Oscar.
All over Twitter, celebrities reacted to the news of Williams’ passing.
Mara Wilson, who played his on-screen daughter in Ms. Doubtfire, tweeted,

At the time of his death, Robin was just 63 years old.
