BP Diaz, State Dept of Labor & BOEDC to Announce Jobs Initiative

BP DIAZ, STATE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR & BOEDC TO ANNOUNCE JOBS INITIATIVE

On Tuesday, August 19, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., New York State Department of Labor Commissioner Peter Rivera and Marlene Cintron, president of the Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (BOEDC), will join numerous elected officials and community and business leaders to celebrate the opening of New York Works, the State Department of Labor’s Division of Business Services’ satellite office at BOEDC.

Governor Andrew Cuomo and Commissioner Rivera have decided to partner with BOEDC in order to provide the increasing number of employers in The Bronx with the workforce they need to make their businesses successful.  The division will use their New York State workforce database to provide those looking for employment in The Bronx with the employers in the borough who are looking for local talent.

Governor Cuomo has also placed State Department of labor resources at many of the community board offices in The Bronx in order to maximize access to these services to the borough’s workforce.
