WHAT:
Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito, Council Member James Vacca, and Council Member Stephen Levin will be joined by their fellow Council Members, the Food Bank for New York City, City Harvest, the New York City Coalition Against Hunger and local Bronx community leaders to kick off the City Council’s “Fill Up the Food Banks” food drive and announce a $1.32 million initiative for food pantries. The food drive is being held in honor of Mother Teresa’s 104th birthday.
