Pelham Parkway-Van Nest Library Events – September 2014

The September 2014 calendar of events for the Pelham Parkway-Van Nest Library, located on Barnes Avenue between Pelham Parkway South and Lydig Avenue, is attached.

* How Do I Get Paid For… Who I Am? – This workshop from NYPL’s Money Matters series will help you develop and realize your career goals. For adults. Thursday, September 4 at 2 pm.

* The Amazing World of Animals – Live animals from the New Canaan Nature Center! For kids aged 4 and older. Tuesday, September 16 at 3:30 pm.
* Sesame Street Story Time – Come play with Sesame Street. Stories, songs, finger plays and much more! For kids aged 0-3. Wednesday, September 24 at 11 am.
* Plus all of our regular story time, craft, science, discussion, movie, computer and gaming programs!
* COMING THIS FALL: The Pelham Parkway-Van Nest, Morris Park, and Allerton Libraries are launching Voices from East of Bronx Park: An Oral History Project of the Allerton, Van Nest, Pelham Parkway, and Morris Park Communities, and we are looking for volunteer interviewers and storytellers to help us document the amazing stories of these communities. A flyer is attached, and interviewer training sessions will be held at all three locations in October. Those interested in participating can call or stop by to reserve a spot.
All NYPL locations will be closed in observance of Labor Day on Monday, September 1.
