The October 2014 calendar of events for the Pelham Parkway-Van Nest Library, located on Barnes Avenue between Pelham Parkway South and Lydig Avenue, is attached.

Some highlights:
* Snake Sisters, Skeletons and Maybe a Ghost or Two – Spooky stories with master storyteller Regina Ress. For children aged 5-12. Tuesday, October 14 at 3:30 pm.
* Aprenda el Uso del Teclado y el Ratón – Clases de computación en español. For adults. Wednesday, October 15 at 10:30 am.
* Neighborhood Oral History Project – Sign up for ONE interviewer training and help collect neighborhood history. RSVP to 212-621-0552 or AlexandraKelly@nypl.org. Saturday, October 25 at 2:30 pm OR Thursday, October 30 at 4:30 pm.
* Halloween Fun Fest – Spooktacular all ages fun with story time, giveaways, a costume contest, a photo booth, candy, and MORE! Friday, October 31, 12-5 pm.
* Plus all of our regular story time, craft, science, discussion, movie, computer and gaming programs!
All NYPL locations will be closed in observance of Columbus Day on Monday,October 13.
