BP DIAZ WELCOMES URBAN LAND INSTITUTE TO STADIUM DISTRICT

Fifty developers, planners, architects and other urbanists from around the world will tour the stadium district, Monday, October 20. The visitors are attending the Urban Land Institute’s convention and are interested in the neighborhood around Yankee Stadium.

Dr. Cary Goodman will conduct the walking tour on behalf of the 161st Street BID.

The tour will take off from the McDonalds plaza on East 161st Street, just across from Yankee Stadium, at 10 AM. It will include visits to the BID’s baseball murals, The Bat, Heritage Field and The Jeter Meter.

The tour will conclude with lunch at the landmark Yankee Tavern, located at 72 East 161st Street, where Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. will address the conventioneers on development trends in The Bronx.

This will be the fourth walking tour conducted by the BID on behalf of baseball fans, Bronx Week and the business community.
