Public Hearing 

Proposed Emergency Placement Unit (EPU) at 1632 Taylor Avenue.

Bronx, NY – On Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Einstein College of Medicine’s Lubin Hall at 1200 Van Nest Avenue, there will be a hearing to give the public a chance to voice their opinion on a proposed EPU at 1632 Taylor Avenue.

Metro Safe Housing (MSH) is a privately-owned company contracted by the City of New York. They provide temporary housing solutions for homeless individuals. Their clients, which are preliminarily selected by the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA), do not have leases. Their stay is based on adherence to MSH’s rules of conduct. If approved by the HRA, this facility would be the fifth one to open in the Bronx.

The hearing will precede the Board’s general November 2014 meeting. Both the hearing and succeeding meeting are open to the public. Anyone wishing to speak at the hearing must fill out a slip before 7:00 p.m. Each member of the public shall be entitled to speak for a total of three (3) minutes and can only two (2) questions at most by two (2) separate board members.
