National Wear Red Day Marked By Bronx Council Member

Go Red Day

Heart disease kills more women than any other disease. To bring about awareness, the office of Council Member Andy King (12th District/Bronx) took part in today’s National “Wear Red Day.”

“We’re wearing red today to symbolically bring awareness to the American Heart Association and the leading cause of death in America, heart disease.  As we move through our busy lives, let us remember that nothing is more important than our health and that the number one “ticker” in our lives is our heart.  Having had family members who have had heart problems, I am grateful and thankful that we are continuing to raise awareness and resources to tackle heart disease head on,” said Council Member Andy King, co-chair of the Black, Latino & Asian Caucus of the City Council.

Throughout the month of February, women are being encouraged to meet with their doctors, learn their health numbers and risk factors and take steps to improve their health.
