SUCCESS ACADEMY SCHOLARS TURN 100 FOR A DAY

“Little old ladies” and “little old men” filled the classrooms of Success Academy Bronx 1 as young scholars dressed up like their 100-year-old selves to mark 100 days of school.

The children giggled as they tried to imagine what they would look like as old men and women – and then donned fake beards, white wigs, granny glasses and canes and posed for pictures of their much older selves.

For the scholars, who normally wear uniforms, wearing their regular clothes to school – and dressing them up with silly accessories – was a special treat. But seeing their teachers wearing gray wigs, goofy suspenders and bow ties made the day even more fun.

The 100-days-of-school celebration is just one of many special occasions that Success Academy marks throughout the year to celebrate learning and foster joyful classrooms.

Success Academy Bronx 1 opened in 2010 and currently serves 453 K-4 scholars and is currently accepting applications for K – 4th grade. There are four Success Academy elementary schools and two middle schools in the Bronx.
