BP Diaz, Sen Klein Remember Carmen Rosa

In a statement released on Monday afternoon, Senator Jeff Klein remembered CB #12 District Manager Carmen Rosa:

“I extend my deepest sympathies and prayers to the family of Carmen Rosa and the entire Bronx community at this difficult time. Carmen was a leading voice for change in the Bronx, ensuring the borough received the resources and attention it deserved. I was proud to work with her on advocating for increased police for the 47th precinct and addressing transportation needs for our seniors in Woodlawn. While Carmen often avoided the limelight, her voice was strong. Her advocacy, leadership and dedication will be sorely missed.”

Also, this afternoon, the Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz, Jr. paused to remember Carmen Rosa and offer his condolences to her family.

“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of longtime Community Board #12 District Manager Carmen Rosa this weekend. Carmen was an invaluable advocate to the community board and neighborhoods which she served. On behalf of all 1.4 million residents of the Bronx, I mourn her passing. My thoughts and prayers are with her children Linda and Alfredo along with the entire family,” said Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.

Dean Meminger, NY1 criminal justice reporter and Bronx resident, took to Twitter to share his condolences.

We, at the Bronx Chronicle, urge readers to post their condolences and remembrances here or on our Facebook page. As we learn of Ms. Rosa’s funeral arrangements, we will post them.
