StoryCorps and Intersections International – VETERANS’ VOICES

Dear Friends,

Service Together is pleased to announce our partnership with the StoryCorps Military Voices Initiative and invite you to participate in sharing your stories!

StoryCorps’ Military Voices Initiative is an oral history project honoring veterans, service members, and military families, and we are partnering with this wonderful project to record and preserve the stories of our community.

On APRIL 11^th at the SERVICE TOGETHER OFFICE (address below),  we invite military veterans  to have a conversation with a family member, friend, mentor, or colleague. You will have 40 minutes of uninterrupted time to talk to each other about anything that is meaningful to you. StoryCorps will record your conversation on a CD, and with your permission, archive it at the Library of Congress so it will be preserved for future generations.

Service Together and StoryCorps are committed to representing a diverse array of individuals, voices, and perspectives. There is no particular type of person or narrative that we seek. Stories are as varied as the people who tell them; however, common conversation themes include: enlistment, commissioning, deployment, separating from the service, transitioning to civilian life, employment, marriage, family, remembering the fallen, defining moments, and personal turning points.
