DC 37 Leaders, Local 372, Elected Officials and Community Advocates Call For More School Crossing Guards

Local 372 President Shaun D. Francois I, DC 37 Executive Director Henry Garrido, union leaders and activists call for more hours and year-round health insurance for NYC school crossing guards, and for more to be hired “to make sure that every dangerous intersection that needs a crossing guard receives one” at a City Hall rally, Tuesday, May 26. They were joined in their call by several City Council Committee Chairs: Vanessa L. Gibson (Public Safety) of the Bronx; Vincent Gentile (Oversight & Investigations); Daniel Dromm (Education); Ben Kallos (Government Operations); as well as, Bronx Council Member Andy King and community advocates.
