The New York State Rheumatology Society (NYSRS), a group that represents rheumatologists treating arthritis and other musculoskeletal diseases in New York, has honored veteran Jacobi Medical Center/North Central Bronx Hospital provider Peter Barland, MD with their lifetime achievement award. The award was presented on May 30th 2015. Dr. Barland is a dedicated educator and emeritus professor of medicine and pathology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine where he has helped train over 90 rheumatology fellows. He continues to oversee teaching clinics as well as Jacobi/NCBH’s joint pain clinic.
