SENATOR KLEIN HOSTS 1ST ANNUAL THROGGS NECK HOUSES BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Local basketball tournament works to build stronger community, lift up future generations

 

State Senator Jeff Klein,  together with the New York City Housing Authority, Throggs Neck Houses Residents’ Council, 45th Precinct, the New York City Fire Department, Police Service Area #8, and the New York City Transit Police, will host the first annual Throggs Neck Houses Basketball Tournament this weekend. A championship awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, August 2 at 4:00 p.m. at Ferry Point Park Basketball Courts, Balcom & Dewey Avenues, The Bronx.

 

The two-day tournament will focus on strengthening police-community relations and fostering a greater understanding between local residents and those sworn to protect them. A total of 16 youth and adult teams will participate in the tournament, with players hailing from both city agencies and the local community. Entertainment, snacks and drinks will be provided.
