On August 2nd, Pakistanis celebrated their 68th Independence day at Bronx Park East.
Though the first celebration occurred on August 15th, it is traditionally celebrated on August 14th. Pakistani Independence Day marks the end of British rule over the Indian Subcontinent, which would then divide to form India and Pakistan in 1947.
The gathering at Bronx Park East included food, entertainment, and face painting for the children.
