Bronx, NY, August 17, 2015 — St. Raymond Elementary School will present Jazz at St. Ray’s, its first-ever jazz concert, featuring Mark Morganelli & The Jazz Forum All-Stars, on Saturday, September 12 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the school’s auditorium. The quartet will perform jazz and Brazilian jazz. In addition to Morganelli on trumpet and flugelhorn, the Jazz Forum All-Stars includes Paul Meyers on guitar, Nilson Matta on bass, and Tony Jefferson on drums and vocals. Morganelli, a well-known presence on the Westchester jazz scene, is the founder and executive director of Jazz Forum Arts, a not-for-profit arts presenting organization in Tarrytown, New York, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. In addition to producing more than 60 CDs, Morganelli has also produced and/or performed in numerous jazz festivals and concerts in the U.S. and abroad. He also produced the Dizzy Gillespie 75th Birthday concert at Carnegie Hall and a concert series at Jazz at Lincoln Center, and co-produced the “Jazz Beats Breast Cancer” concert at Avery Fisher Hall. Later this year, Morganelli will be opening the new Jazz Forum performance space in Tarrytown. For additional information about Jazz Forum Arts, visit www.jazzforumarts.org or find them on Facebook.

“We are very excited to welcome Mark Morganelli & The Jazz Forum All-Stars to St. Raymond’s,” says Advancement Director Elaine Nole. “As a diverse school with students of African, Latino and European heritage, St. Raymond’s is the ideal venue for a concert of jazz and Brazilian jazz. We hope that Jazz at St. Ray’s will become an annual event and invite you to join us for this special musical evening.”
