NYPL Extends Sunday Service

On Sunday, Sept. 13, The New York Public Library opened four additional branches on Sunday, including two in the Bronx – Parkchester and Grand Concourse. NYPL President Tony Marx joined City Councilmembers Jimmy Van Bramer and Andy King, and DC 37 Executive Director Henry Garrido at Grand Concourse at 1 pm to celebrate the occasion, made possible because of the city’s unprecedented investment in libraries this fiscal year (a release with all information on extended hours and the budget process is here). Patrons were very excited – many applauded and cheered as they walked into the branch at opening – and kids were treated to a special magic show.
