Cuomo Picks Janet DiFiore as State’s Top Judge

Governor Andrew Cuomo, who lives in Westchester, tapped the county’s district attorney and his former JCOPE executive chairwoman, Janet DiFiore to become chief judge of the Court of Appeals, the state’s highest court. If confirmed by the state Senate, she would replace Jonathan Lippman, who is retiring at the end of the year.
